My name is Osama, and my family's story in Dahab begins in 1983, when we became the fourth family to settle here, moving from Cairo to a remote place where the desert meets the sea. My family opened Shark Restaurant, now one of the best-known seafood restaurants in Dahab. For decades we have welcomed visitors to our table. In 2011 I extended that hospitality to a new dimension: underwater.
What makes diving with me different? I do not treat you as a tourist. You are a guest in my home. Just as we serve you at the restaurant with love, I share the underwater world the same way: with patience, with care, and with a local's knowledge of every reef.

From the sand, straight into the sea.
No boat, no schedule. You walk in from the beach, the reef starts at your fins. These are the sites Osama grew up on, in the order the shore road meets them.
South of townThree sandy lagoons opening onto coral gardens. Calm, bright, and easy. Open Water and up.

Every brief starts on the sand, and every dive stays inside your training.
Clear Red Sea water, world-class sites, and a shore you walk into. No boat, no seasickness, no rush.
Divers travel from every corner of the world to descend into this sinkhole. Open Water is the minimum. The Arch is for technical divers only; recreational diving here stops at 40 metres. I have dived it more than a thousand times. I know its moods, and how to show you its magic safely.
You descend through a narrow passage as beams of sunlight pierce the water above you. Walls covered in soft coral, home to lionfish, moray eels, and schools of glassfish.
Forget crowded boats and rough seas. In Dahab you walk to your dive site. Gear up on the beach, wade in through calm water, and you are diving within minutes. More time underwater, less time commuting.

Never tried it? Start in sheltered, confined water at the Lighthouse, with Osama beside you.
Not sure if diving is for you? The Intro is a simplified demo dive at the Lighthouse, Dahab's authorised location with an easy entry and exit. The water is shallow and confined, but do not let that fool you: fish, marine life and coral are right there. It is the perfect way to see if you love it before committing to the full Open Water course.
The certification. You leave able to dive anywhere in the world.
Your Open Water certification unlocks every dive site on the planet down to 18 metres. But the real focus is not depth; it is learning to handle your equipment, deal with malfunctions and perform the essential exercises underwater. By the end you have the buoyancy skills and the confidence to continue your diving anywhere in the world.
Five adventure dives, including deep and navigation. Choose the other three with Osama.
The Advanced course is where diving truly opens up. Five dives over two days, including two compulsory dives, Deep Adventure to 30 metres and Underwater Navigation, plus three electives you choose: Boat Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Adventure or Fish ID. Navigation is not just a compass; it is learning to read the environment, currents, light, reefs and marine life as your guide, with the compass as backup. This is also where you learn to protect the marine environment.
The course that turns you into a buddy worth diving with.
Open Water teaches you to rescue yourself. Advanced teaches you to protect the environment. Rescue is about saving others. This course changes how you see diving: awareness sharpens, compassion deepens, and you become a true guardian of the sea. Prerequisites: Advanced certification plus a minimum of 20 logged dives. I am strict on the 20 dives; safety and competence come first.
Several weeks at my side. The first professional step, if you want one.
The Divemaster course is the first professional level in diving. Over two weeks to a month you move from recreational diver to dive professional: learning to lead dives, assist instructors and manage divers of every level. It is a career pathway, and a different way of seeing the reef.
Deep, nitrox, night, buoyancy, boat. Picked to fit the reefs you want to dive.
Want to specialise? Choose from Deep Specialty (three dives, possible in one day), Nitrox (extend your dive time), Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy or Boat Diving. Each one sharpens a skill you already have and opens sites you could not dive before.
People ask why I never tire of the Blue Hole after thousands of dives. This legendary sinkhole holds more moods than the sea has colours. Anyone diving it needs at least an Open Water certification, and the Arch is strictly for technical divers; recreational diving here stops at 40 metres. Safety first, always.
Before trucks, before cars, Bedouins crossed Sinai by camel. This safari honours that tradition: riding through bronze canyons to reach reefs that speedboats will never find. Best for Advanced divers because of the sites, but snorkellers are welcome with a private guide. We never drop snorkellers off; a guide always stays with you.

I have more dives with Osama than I can count, but the one everyone asks about is the day he married us underwater. He organised every part of it, from the plan on the sand to the moment at depth, and made it feel calm. Wherever we travel, we tell people we were married under the Red Sea, and that my brother made it happen.
I’ve done my Advanced Open Water, Nitrox, and Rescue Diver courses with Osama, as well as my first night dive. He’s an amazing instructor with a huge amount of knowledge and is always happy to share it. I’ve had the chance to dive with him at pretty much every possible dive site around Dahab, and every dive has been a great experience. Beyond being a great instructor, Osama is genuinely a great person. Highly recommended!
Diving with Osama was amazing. Especially if you are a beginner and still a bit afraid I can absolutely recommend him. He makes you feel very safe and he even managed to make me enjoy the dive instead of only focusing on the equipment. I also appreciate that he took his time to explain everything in detail to me so that I understand why we are actually doing things. Also the equipment was in tact, everything as it should be. I would definitely go again!

The best of all time
I did several dives with Osama and completed my PADI Deep Diver certification with him. He's an excellent guide: calm, attentive, and clearly very experienced. He knows the sites well and always had an eye on conditions and on the group. As an instructor he's just as good. The course was properly taught, with thorough briefings, no rushing, and real attention to skills and safety rather than just ticking boxes. His feedback was clear and useful, and at depth he's a reassuring presence, which counts for a lot. If you're diving in the area, ask for Osama. Great guide and great instructor!
I came to Dahab nervous about the Rescue course and left feeling I could actually look after someone in the water. Osama never rushed me. He let me get things wrong in the shallows at the Canyon until they came right, then took me along the reef when I was ready. On the last evening he sat with me over tea and went through every scenario again, patiently, like family. Danke, Osama. See you next October.
